Mr History hands over village photos

At the age of 84 Ron White has handed over to the Parish Council his vast collection of photos of people and places in Galleywood. Ron has been a keen photographer since he was a boy and then a student at the Mid Essex Technical college in the 1930s. When he saw an 18th century house being demolished in Skinners Lane in 1991 he realised that the old village was disappearing and so set about recording the roads and buildings on camera. Following a heart operation last year he decided that this unique archive should be found a home where it can be made available to a wider audience. The collection was received by the parish chairman, John Turkentine and vice chairman Janette Potter.
