Road Noise from A12

The completion of the A12 Chelmsford by-pass brought complaints of increased noise levels from many residents on the south side of the Parish. With an unfavourable wind, the sound of traffic could be heard well to the north of the Eagle crossroads.  When enquiries revealed a limit of 300 metres from the source to qualify for compensation, the Parish Council made representations to the Borough Council for the limit to be increased. Their eventual reply confirmed that no properties in Galleywood would qualify for compensation.

Supermarket Face-lift

The Co-op in Barnard Road has been given a new look, both inside and out. The range of products has been increased and now includes an off licence, houseware and baby products. Manageress, Mrs Ginny Boughen, said "It's been a lot of hard work, bringing the store up to the new standard, but  by the customer’s comments, it's been well worth it". The store is now open from 8am until 8pm.
