Driving Success for Andrew

Disabled teenager Andrew Crowe has achieved his ambition of passing his driving test at the first attempt in a specially adapted car. Andrew, 19, of Horse and Groom Lane, was paralysed from the neck down following an accident four years ago, but thanks to his courage and determination plus the love and support of family and friends he now has the extra mobility and independence he longed for. He passed his test with flying colours driving a Ford Escort, using head movement and the small amount of mobility he has in his upper arms to operate special devices in the car. He has become a computer wizard and is taking a business studies course. He was picked to play the role of a disabled reporter in the ITV children’s series, ‘Press Gang’.
