  Horse riding on The Common
The increasing popularity of Horse Riding has resulted in some concern that some of the grass areas on The Common were being damaged by enthusiastic riders. Following the Borough Council's attempts to enforce the Bye Laws prohibiting the riding of Horses other than on The Gallops at the south end, several Horse Riders wrote to the Parish Council complaining about being stopped from riding on the Race Course. After discussions between the Council, the Galleywood Common Association and the Borough Leisure Services Department, it was decided that riding would be allowed on the inner ring of the northern loop of the Race Course on a trial basis.
